JWA was formed in 1990 as a family run business by Joe Argo after working for EFG since 1983. The company started working on motorway maintenance - specifically the M74 Drafton, Douglas and Abington modifications, before moving into groundworks and plant hire.
In 2001 Gordon Argo joined JWA as the Managing Director after graduating from the University of Strathclyde with a Honours degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology. Since 2001 Joe Argo has been the Chairman of JWA.
The company is now expanding into supplying compost and sawdust to clients throughout central Scotland.
